Blake Schofield 0:03 My name is Blake Schofield, founder and CEO of Connections Illuminated, mom to three, and former corporate executive who got tired of sacrificing my life for a comfortable paycheck. My mission is to change women’s perspectives about what is possible, empowering them with the tools to create greater impact at home and at work without sacrificing their health time family or income. This is The Bridge to Fulfillment. Self reflection is a muscle most of us weren’t taught. Understanding fundamentally who we are, what our skill strengths and passions and natural way of working are. isn’t just a nice to have. It’s a necessity if you want to live a life of fulfillment, impact peace of mind and joy. can fundamentally looking at who we are and what we believe feel hard, sometimes, but only if we choose to see it that way. I see the matrix the struggles others go through because I was there caught in the same maze. But thankfully, I escaped. And I now have a 30,000 foot bird’s eye view. And I can tell you with all honesty, it’s far harder to live life the other way, keeping yourself so busy that we don’t really have time to breathe or feel how we really feel ignoring our bodies and health falling apart instead of taking time to listen and be proactive. Believing that we don’t have control over the choices we make or our time. But all of those are lies. You know, my corner man, Dr. Jeff Spencer recently shared a story with me about this, quote, The things you accept in your life become the standards you live by. I’m going to repeat that again. The things you accept in your life become the standards you live by. You know, often it can feel easy to blame or complain about how things are. But if you accept it, and you don’t change it, then it becomes your standard for living. That job where you work 55 plus hour a weeks consistently. The boss who micromanage is the tension in that relationship that you aren’t really addressing the exhaustion every morning that you feel crawling out of bed, the lack of enthusiasm you bring to a job you used to love that has now become your standard.

Blake Schofield 2:27 That is until you decide you are no longer willing to tolerate it. Often women believe that we quote unquote have to sacrifice for a high level careers. We feel guilty that we quote unquote, should be more grateful for what we have. But we don’t realize those are just lies that keep us trapped exactly where we are. The path to greater joy, impact and success lies in understanding and valuing who you are, and being empowered to ask for and go after what you want. It doesn’t have to be risky or a leap. It doesn’t have to take years going back to school or taking a big pay cut. But it does start by realizing the life you are leading is less than you want and deserve. It starts with realizing that it’s time to raise your standards. It starts with believing that you your family team and those you impact deserve for you to show up as your best self every single day. It starts with realizing that you have blind spots and can’t see the label from inside the bottle. But that someone further ahead of the path can. investing time and resources to become your best self is not only something you won’t regret, but it will yield you the highest ROI of anything you invest in period. It is the key to how I’ve been able to transition into a dream life and career I never thought was even possible. And the same path my clients have taken to do the same. And so if today you can look at your life and you can realize that there are things that you are tolerating, that are really the standard by which you want to lead your life and encourage you that this message is for you. And now the next step is in your hands. The opportunity to raise your standard, the opportunity to change your life, the opportunity to realize that you have the power to create what it is you want in your life and in your career. And if you don’t know how to do it, all you have to do is find somebody further ahead of the path than you who knows the right next steps to take. Until next time, have a great week.
