Blake Schofield 0:01 Most of us, at some point in our lives begin to realize that we’ve been lying to ourselves, believing that the next thing was finally going to make us happy. We achieved our goal. But then that excited feeling went away. And we didn’t feel any different. We didn’t feel successful, even if we had the very things we used to think would make us happy and successful. That’s where I found myself a mom of three, with an important career, great kids and husband, the ability to travel and enjoy life with financial resources. So we really could explore put our kids in the sports and things we wanted and really feel like, we didn’t have to hold so closely to a budget. I was constantly looked at as a working mom to aspire to a woman who had it all three kids and this amazing career and somehow pulled it all off. And yet, success did not feel like I thought it would. It took me years to realize that I was trapped in a cycle, a cycle that the next thing would finally make me happy. I realized that I had achieved success, but at a huge cost. And that this version of success didn’t feel like Success to me. And I felt guilty that it wasn’t because I knew. And I felt guilty, I saw that I had so much more than other people that would be so happy to have what I have. But I still wasn’t happy. I felt guilty. That what I really wanted, maybe wasn’t even possible, maybe I was asking for too much. If you can relate to this, today’s episode is for you, we are going to be talking about discovering and creating success on your terms. So welcome back to The Bridge to Fulfillment. You know, for me, when I got to this place in my career, I didn’t know it then. But I was at a place in my life when I needed to realign my life with my values, and redefine what success meant to me. This is the very same place so many of us get to in our lives and in our careers. But far too often we get stuck there, we get stuck believing that we just should suck it up, that it’s better to sacrifice our happiness for what’s comfortable or known. Maybe we even believe that this is all there is because we see everyone else around us unhappy or stressed or lacking balance. Or maybe we fear that making a change means risk. But I want you to know that those things couldn’t be further from the truth of life lived based on other people’s values or other people’s perspectives of success will ultimately lead to health issues, a lifetime of regrets and disconnection from the very people you care about the most. So if you find yourself successful, but not feeling happy, this episode is really for you. If you dream of being able to have more flexibility in your life, to have the time to enjoy and be fully present, to wake up excited and energized to go to work. And to make a bigger difference, I want you to know that you are not alone. And I also want you to know that far more is possible than you believe. The journey to uncovering and creating your version of success and a more fulfilling life starts with recognizing three things. Number one, you have the power to change your circumstances. Number two, you do not have to figure this out on your own, you can leverage a proven path. And number three, what you want for your life does not need to be risky. And it isn’t selfish. Time and time again, the data proves when you’re happy in your career in your life, you’re able to give more to those you love, be a better role model to others and experience less stress, better health and a better life. We have to stop the narrative that quote unquote This is as good as it gets or that you can’t have what you want. That desire that you have for a different life. It’s there for a reason. It’s the lighthouse that’s beckoning you to a better future. But it’s only when you begin to trust that there can be something more something better for you that you give yourself the permission to seek it. Success ultimately, right both from the inside in the outside comes from living an authentic life based on what you value.
